Article VII. Shoreline Development Standards by District: Part II. Shoreline Development Standards

Section 17E.060.730 Structure Setbacks
  1. Purpose.

Structure setbacks provide space between the shoreline buffer and structures in order to minimize stress to the shoreline buffer from development and to protect the buffer during construction activities.

  1. Buildings and other accessory structures shall be set back in accordance with Table 17E.060.770-1, Development Standards.
  1. The following minor features shall be allowed in the structure setback:
    1. Landscaping.
    1. Ground surfaces, such as sidewalks and patios.
    1. Uncovered stairways and steps.
    1. Flagpoles; and
    1. Uncovered decks, roof eaves and overhangs, chimneys, and fire escapes may project a maximum of twenty percent of the depth of the required setback.
