Section 17F.030.210 Restamping of Boilers and Pressure Vessels
When the stamping on a boiler or unfired pressure vessel becomes indistinct, the inspector will instruct the owner or user to have it restamped. Request for permission to restamp a boiler or unfired pressure vessel is made to the chief boiler inspector. Proof of the original stamping must accompany the request. Restamping authorized by the chief inspector is done only in the presence of an inspector and must be identical with the original stamping except the ASME symbol is not required. Notice of completion of such restamping is filed with the chief inspector by the inspector who witnessed the restamping together with a facsimile of the stamping applied.
