Section 02.02.110 Publicity

If the city council votes to grant an initiative petition and enact the proposed ordinance, the ordinance is published in the Official Gazette upon passage in the ordinary course.

In case the measure would amend the charter or adopt a new or revised charter, then, in addition, the measure is published in the newspaper having the largest general circulation within the city once each week for four weeks next preceding the day of the election.

In addition to the summary of the proceedings of the city council, which appears weekly in the Official Gazette, Washington law requires that notices of municipal elections be given by the county auditor.

Pursuant to section 86 of the City Charter, the city clerk shall publish every proposed or referred ordinance in each number of the Official Gazette issued within fifteen days before the date of the election; and shall give such other notices and do such other things relative to such election, as may be required by law.
