Article II. Special Revenue Funds

Section 07.08.129 Local Law Enforcement Block Grant Fund

  1. There is established a trust in the form of a special revenue fund designated the “local law enforcement block grant fund” as required by the grant agreement between the City and the United States department of justice, office of justice programs, bureau of justice assistance. The fund will be an interest-bearing account in the custody of the city treasurer.
     
  2. Income to the fund will include the federal grant money, interest and investment earnings, and any other revenue received.
     
  3. The fund will be expended to improve public safety for such purposes as the purchase of mobile data computers and such other items as provided in the grant agreement. The grant amount will be expended within two years of the first federal payment.
