Article I. General Provisions
Section 13.04.0608 Testing Meters – Expense
- Where the accuracy of record of a water meter is questioned, it may be removed at the customer’s request and tested in the shops of the water and hydroelectric services department by means of the apparatus there provided or other reasonable means, and a report thereon will be duly made.
- It shall be the privilege of the customer to be present at the water and hydroelectric services department shops and witness such test. Both parties to the test must accept the findings so made.
- If the test discloses an error against the customer of more than three percent on the meter’s registry, the water and hydroelectric services department will bear the entire expense of the test. Where no such error is found, the person who has requested the test shall pay a fee in accordance with City of Spokane Public Rule 4100-20-02 Water and Hydroelectric Department Fee Schedule.
- The director may require a reasonable deposit, sufficient to secure the costs of removal and testing, prior to the test to be refunded if an error against the customer is discovered as above provided.
- The fees in this section shall be adjusted as provided in SMC 13.04.2030 and in accordance with City of Spokane Public Rule 4100-20-02 Water and Hydroelectric Department Fee Schedule
