Chapter 13.04 Water

Article II. Rates

Section 13.04.2012 Outside City Residence Rates
  1. Basic Charge: Single-family Residence.
    1. Outside the City, for each single-family residence, the monthly service charge where the water is being used or reflected as on in the records of the City of Spokane utilities billings office shall be:

    1. For two or more single-family residences on one meter the above service charge shall apply for each residence. “Single-family residence” has the meaning in SMC 13.04.2002(A)(2).
  1. Consumption.

The following rate schedule is adopted to encourage water conservation and promote environmental quality. Outside the City limits, for each one hundred cubic feet or major fraction (approximately seven hundred fifty gallons) of water used, there will be the following consumption charges:

  1. No vacancy allowance will be made on any house in a group served by one meter unless all houses served by one meter are vacant and the water is shut off at the City valve by the water and hydroelectric services department upon proper request in writing.
  1. Family daycare homes shall be billed at the single-family rate. For purposes of this provision, "family daycare homes" shall mean a day care facility:
    1. furnishing care, supervision, and guidance for persons twelve years of age or younger for more than four but less than twenty-four hours in a day;
    1. licensed as such by the state department of social and health services; and
    1. which regularly provides such care during part of a twenty-four hour day for no more than twelve children in the dwelling of the person(s) in charge.
  1. Capital Charge.

In addition to the basic charge and consumption charge, there shall be charged a capital charge for all accounts as established and provided for in SMC 13.035.500.
