Chapter 17G.010 Building and Construction Permits

Section 17G.010.260 Effective Time of Approval
  1. To the extent that the approvals granted under this title are based upon representations in application documents, and because the approvals are predicated upon conditions and standards prescribed by law and deriving from consideration of public health, safety and general welfare, all approvals are subject to recission, revocation or suspension at any time when it is discovered that circumstances are not as represented, conditions are not satisfied, or the public interest so warrants.
  1. Some approvals under this chapter are expressly limited in time of effect as follows:
    1. A building permit expires if the work is not commenced within one hundred eighty days or if the work is suspended or abandoned for a period of one hundred eighty days. Expiration under this paragraph depends on whether there is substantial progress in the commencement or completion of the work in the judgment of the building official.
    1. A blaster’s license, boiler operator’s license and mechanic’s license expires on December 31st of each year.
    1. A side sewer permit expires after ninety days.
  1. When a permit or license is conditioned upon the posting of an indemnity, performance or similar bond or insurance coverage, the permit or license is subject to suspension or revocation when such security is cancelled, expires, or is significantly impaired.
  1. Approvals of private use of public rights-of-way are subject to revocation whenever there is public need for the right-of-way.
