In terms of fire death, the most dangerous buildings in our community are our residences. While more fires typically happen in single-family residences, the problem can be compounded when families live in closer proximity in apartment units.
Spokane Fire Department launched a monthly “Apartment Safety Notes” newsletter in January of 2010 in order to provide ongoing education to our community regarding the maintenance of a safe and protected home. While the information is tailored to apartments, the content can be of interest to homeowners as well. Please take the time to read through our previous issues to learn more about protecting your family and home from a fire as well as keep up to date on other life safety concerns.
