Spokane Mayor David Condon issued the following statement regarding the resignation of Councilmember Steve Salvatori:

“First and foremost, I’d like to thank Councilmember Steve Salvatori for his service to Spokane. He has accomplished a lot during his two-plus years on the City Council. He championed independent civilian oversight of the police department, led a task force whose recommendations are helping to evolve the Spokane Fire Department, and fostered entrepreneurism and small business development in the community.

Councilmember Salvatori has been a big part of making needed change in Spokane. Even when we have disagreed, I have appreciated his perspective and impassioned arguments on behalf of those he was chosen to represent.

The people of Spokane are losing a great advocate, but I fully support Councilmember Salvatori’s decision, and wish him and his family continued success.”
