It has been reported that during the Yom Kippur service, someone spray painted a swastika on a courtyard wall at Temple Beth Shalom. We denounce this appalling act of intolerance. This act represents a horrifying symbol of anti-Semitism and is an offense to our Jewish family, friends, neighbors and co-workers.

This act also represents an offense against the values that we cherish: acceptance and mutual respect. It is through these values that we build a better community for everyone. It is in times like these that we must all make a pledge to uphold those values, educate ourselves and stand against intolerance and prejudice in our community.
