Garbage, curbside recycling, and yard waste pickup will be a day late starting Thursday, with Friday's pickup occurring on Saturday due to the Thanksgiving holiday. Mayor Lisa Brown issued the following statement following the City Council’s passage of the mid-biennium budget modification:  

“I am appreciative of the City Council for passing a mid-biennium budget modification that is both balanced and responsible.  

“This budget closes the deficit that has opened up as a result of a slowing national economy, weakened consumer confidence, and continued inflation in the products and services the City purchases. This budget also maintains our commitment to core services and protects critical public safety investments.  

“I would like to thank my Cabinet, the Council, and all of those who have engaged in this process and worked toward a responsible outcome for the people we serve.”
