This month, the Marijuana Policy Subcommittee of the Spokane City Council Public Safety Committee welcomed experts from around the world to learn what Spokane has accomplished in relation to implementation of Initiative 502 and discuss the broader implications of legalization. This roundtable discussion consisted of:

  • Julio Calzada, Immediate Past Secretary General of the National Drugs Board of Uruguay
  • Pat Oglesby, Former Chief Tax Counsel for the U.S. Senate Finance Committee
  • Lewis Koski, Director of the Marijuana Enforcement Division of the Colorado Department of Revenue
  • Jack Reed, Statistical Analyst for the Marijuana Enforcement Division of the Colorado Department of Revenue
  • Jay Butler, M.D., Chief Medical Officer and Director of the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services
  • Philip Wallach, Ph.D., Fellow in Governance Studies at the Brookings Institution
