The busy Lincoln Heights Commercial District is a place with a lot of potential. It's also a place in need of a solid vision in order to fulfill that potential.
The South Hill Planning Coalition and the Lincoln Heights Neighborhood Council have identified planning for the Lincoln Heights District Center as a high priority. As the City works with those groups, we're also looking to citizens to help develop a vision for the area.
An Open House is happening Wednesday, Sept. 30 for people to provide feedback on interests and concerns for the area outlined in a recent report. That written report was put together by a Technical Assistance Panel from the Northwest Office of the Urban Land Institute. The panel visited the Lincoln Heights area back in June.
The Open House is from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Southside Christian Church (2934 East 27th Avenue). A presentation will begin at 6:30 p.m. You can also leave your thoughts about the report and the efforts in Lincoln Heights in the comment section below.
