With winter just around the corner, take advantage of the chance to make the weather outside delightful rather than frightful! Parks and Recreation wants you to experience the wonders of Spokane's winter wilderness as you embark on one of our outdoor adventures.
Traverse the snowcapped pines of Washington's mountains on snowshoes or cross country skis. Trips this year will take you up to the highest pass in the state or beneath the untainted starry skies on one of our night hikes. Other treks allow you to circumnavigate glacial lakes, explore hidden cabins, and experience the wildlife of the pristine backcountry.
Do you take wine with your wilderness? Well good news! You can register for snowshoeing and wine tasting at Trezzi's Farm Winery on Greenbluff. If you'd rather conclude your adventure with a feast, sign up for a moonlit snow or ski tour with a gourmet dinner included.
Finding motivation to walk the dog in the bitter months of winter can be a daunting prospect, but it doesn't have to be! Parks and Rec is partnering with 49 Degrees North to offer skijoring, a Norwegian sport where canines pull riders on cross country skis. Don't miss out on this unique opportunity to hit the ski trail with your pooch.
Programs include transportation, guides, equipment and untamed wilderness. For registration and more information please visit our website.
