April 2023 marks 10 years of Spokane Gives!
The Spokane Gives initiative began in 2014 as a week-long volunteer event throughout the community. Today, in partnership with the Spokane County United Way, Spokane Gives takes place annually throughout the entire month of April and serves as an expansion of the already impressive philanthropy in the community and works to build the network between volunteer and nonprofit to promote giving year-round.
Since Spokane Gives was expanded to a full month, nearly 120,000 volunteers have given over 550,000 hours of service. This equates to nearly a $13 million impact in our community. In 2022 alone, over 18,000 volunteers gave almost 100,000 hours of service.
There are a number of ways to get involved in Spokane Gives Month. It all starts at VolunteerSpokane.org, where you can register as a volunteer to find opportunities that fit your schedule. You can also register as an organization and host your own service events!
Events for Spokane Gives Month are already being posted and are looking for volunteers now! View Opportunities with Volunteer Spokane to see more.
