Spokane Public Library’s Central location was the setting for Lisa Brown’s swearing-in as City of Spokane’s next Mayor. She will officially take office Jan. 1, 2024. Kitty Klitzke, City Council Member elected for District 3 was also sworn in at the event.
Many watched as Brown and Klitzke were sworn in by King County Superior Court Judge Jaime Hawk who administered the oath of office. The ceremony also included performances by local bands Haywire, Lucas Brown and Friends, Salish School of Spokane students, and a short story read by local author Sharma Shields.
