This month’s video features the Five Mile Prairie neighborhood. Did you know that the J.F. Strong house, built in 1879, is the oldest inhabited house on the prairie?

Mr. Strong was the first to build on the prairie, but by the end of the year, six other families built nearby. In 1908, the name of the prairie was changed to Five Mile Prairie, signifying the distance to Spokane Falls in downtown Spokane.

Well, if you didn’t know, now you know!

Here’s news you can use.
