Are you a low-income senior or disabled property owner who is eligible for Spokane County’s property tax exemption? You may also qualify for City of Spokane’s monthly utility bill credit program. This initiative is part of Spokane’s ongoing efforts to support vulnerable community members and help reduce the cost of essential services.
This credit is available to residents who qualify for property tax exemptions through Spokane County, as outlined by the State of Washington. More information on eligibility can be found on the Spokane County website.
The credit provides eligible utility customers with $15 off their monthly bill. This amount is evenly divided across the City’s three main utility services: water, sewer, and solid waste collections. Customers who receive only one or two of these services from the City will receive a prorated credit based on their usage.
Once approved, participants will see the credit reflected on their utility bill starting the month after final acceptance into the program. The City encourages those who believe they may be eligible to apply as soon as possible to begin receiving benefits.
