Earlier this year, the community was asked to provide insights into their experiences and opinions of climate challenges, such as wildfires and extreme heat. Over 1,500 community members shared their stories (read more about the valuable feedback we received) and contributed to the creation of the City of Spokane Climate Risk and Vulnerability Assessment. This technical report integrated those diverse perspectives and lived experiences with expansive data to identify climate risks and vulnerabilities right here in Spokane. This was made possible because of the time and experiences shared by Spokane’s community.
We are once again asking for your help to move local climate and resiliency action plans forward.
The next phase of the City of Spokane Climate Planning efforts will work on future goals and policies that guide local action to mitigate, adapt to, and address climate hazards. Your feedback now will help inform future steps to build a resilient Spokane.
The Community Climate Policy Survey is open until August 31, 2025, and ready for your feedback on what types of policies you want to see. Results from this survey will influence policies that will ultimately be integrated into the PlanSpokane 2046 Periodic Update to the Comprehensive Plan, directing future actions and decisions by City staff and leaders.
The survey is available in English, Spanish, Russian, Vietnamese, Arabic, and Marshallese.
Early respondents will be eligible to receive one of ten $50 gift cards – a thank you from us for your time.
