Riverfront Moves, presented by Providence, is Spokane’s signature summer fitness series offering free outdoor workouts in the scenic Riverfront Park. With a diverse lineup of rotating instructors and studios, the program invites residents and visitors to move, sweat, and connect, all in a welcoming, community-focused environment.
From Power Vinyasa yoga and Zumba to HIIT, dance cardio, hula hooping, and acro yoga, Riverfront Moves features a wide range of classes suitable for all fitness levels. Whether you are looking to try something new or simply enjoy a fresh-air workout with others, the series provides an accessible and enjoyable way to stay active downtown.
This year’s series has seen record engagement, with several classes drawing hundreds of attendees. Among the season’s standout moments: BEYOUTIFUL Hot Yoga hosted two Pilates classes at the Gesa Pavilion, drawing nearly 500 participants combined. Their experience reflects what many instructors have echoed this year, Spokane is showing up for wellness.
“We were absolutely blown away by the turnout for Pilates at the Pavilion,” shared the team from BEYOUTIFUL Hot Yoga. “The energy, the sunshine, the skyline backdrop, and the sea of moving bodies all breathing and flowing together… it was nothing short of magical. It really felt like Spokane showed up for wellness, and we were honored to help lead that movement.”
They added, “We got involved with Riverfront Moves because we truly believe wellness should be accessible, inclusive, and joyful. Offering a free class in such an iconic space makes it easy for people to try something new, feel empowered in their bodies, and connect with community – all in one hour. That’s powerful.”
Feedback from their classes has been overwhelmingly positive. One attendee shared it was their first-ever Pilates class and that they loved it! Exactly the kind of experience the program hopes to spark.
Riverfront Moves isn’t just about exercise, it’s about building connection and encouraging people to move in ways that feel good. This spirit of exploration and support was especially evident during sessions led by Coil Studio, a downtown boutique “alt fitness” space offering aerial arts, hula hooping, belly dance, and acro yoga.
“We were inspired to join Riverfront Moves to show a larger audience more about our unique style of body movement,” shared Coil’s instructors. “Offering these free classes allows us to give back and connect with more community members.”
Their acro yoga class at the Tribal Gathering Place last season was a vivid example of how movement can build trust and shared joy. What began as a shy, spread-out group transformed into an engaged circle of laughter, teamwork, and mutual encouragement.
This year, Coil Studio is back with hula hooping and acro yoga sessions, inviting participants to experience movement in a fun, unconventional way.
The second half of the season includes a strong lineup of popular returning instructors and exciting new sessions:
Riverfront Moves classes are free and open to the public. No registration is required. Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing, bring a water bottle, and arrive a few minutes early. All sessions are designed to be inclusive and adaptable, making them ideal for all ages and experience levels.
