Dual Space Meters Give Customers More Payment Options

The City will begin installing new dual space meters that take coin, cards and mobile payment beginning December 10, 2025. Dual-space means there will be one meter for two parking spaces.

The dual space meters are solar powered, take up less space and have more payment options.

The City has been replacing outdated meters in the Paid Parking Zone in phases since 2022. This installation covers 108 zones and replaces 1, 281 devices. The on-street parking system is not general fund. The money generated from payment then goes back into the parking system and other enhancements within the Paid Parking Zone.

Important Information

  • You can pay at a meter or use ParkMobile, the City’s mobile payment provider.
  • The 2+ pilot is being expanded to allow customers to park longer than 2 hours if using the ParkMobile app in this area.
  • Parking customers are not subject to parking tickets during the active change out of meters. You may park and discover when you return to find a different kind of meter present.
  • There will be changes to time limits on some blocks to make the time limits more consistent for customers.
  • Please report any paid parking device issue to Spokane 311 by calling 311, or 509.755.2489 (CITY) if outside city limits.

Your patience is appreciated as we update the system and make parking EASY, ACCESSIBLE, and CONVENIENT!
