For decades, our City Council has held its meetings on Mondays at 6 p.m. to accommodate working residents. However, we are now exploring changing the meeting time to enhance transparency and accessibility for the community.

Reasons for potential change:

  1. Avoiding Monday Holidays: Many public holidays fall on Mondays, disrupting our schedule. A new meeting day could provide more consistency.
  2. Flexibility Midweek: Holding meetings midweek may make it easier for council members and city staff to coordinate their schedules.
  3. Better Participation Opportunities: Considering alternative days could create more opportunities for parents, caregivers, and busy residents to participate.
