At approximately 2:05 AM, the Spokane Fire Department (SFD), along with automatic aid partners from Spokane Valley Fire Department and AMR, responded to the 2800 Block of W 7th Avenue for a possible apartment fire.
The first arriving crews arrived to find a large fire extending from the first floor up to the second and third floors and into the attic. Crews worked quickly on evacuating the occupants from the building and extinguishing the fire. Well trained SFD units limited fire damage to 3 individual apartment units and exterior siding.
No injuries were reported at the fire. Seven people were displaced and receiving assistance from the Red Cross. A total of 45 Fire Department personnel responded to the incident.
The SFD Special Investigations Unit (SIU) is still investigating the fire's cause and origin.
