At approximately 9:20am, Wednesday morning, the Spokane Fire Department responded to the 1100 West block of Jackson Avenue on a report of a detached garage fire.
Spokane Engine 3 had just cleared a medical call and arrived just minutes after dispatch. Firefighters found a well involved detached garage with no immediate exposures. The garage fire was quickly confined and extinguished preventing the spread to the adjoining structures. On scene crews conducted a rapid search of the garage to ensure no one was inside.
Six fire apparatus along with 21 firefighters responded. The fire was contained and extinguished within 10 minutes of units arriving on scene. No injuries to civilians or firefighters were reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigations by the Spokane Fire Department's Special Investigation Unit.
