State, U.S. flags will be lowered Monday

2:30 p.m. - Governor Jay Inslee has directed that flags at all state agency facilities be lowered to half-staff on Monday, May 25 in observance of Memorial Day.

Rescuers help injured man from riverbank

3:46 p.m. - Rescuers pulled an injured man from the steep riverbank along the Spokane River today.

City hires temporary ombudsman assistant

3:23 p.m. - A temporary employee will handle intake duties in the Office of the Police Ombudsman from 1 to 5 pm, Monday through Friday, beginning on Tuesday.

Minor fire damages downtown library elevator
