The 2015 Community Development (CD) Sidewalks continues with work beginning on Freya Street from 20th to 21st Avenue. Freya Street is currently closed from Hartson Street to 29th Avenue through the end of August for work on the Combined Sewer Overflow tank at Underhill Park. The closure will now include work on Freya from 20th to 21st Avenue beginning Monday, August 24, for new sidewalk installation, driveway, and wheel chair ramps. The closure for the sidewalk work will begin Monday, August 24, 7 a.m. and go through Friday, August 29, 5 p.m.
Completing the sidewalk work on Freya during the existing closure for CSO work will allow the sidewalk work to complete 7 working days ahead of schedule and without further disruption to Freya.
Local access to the area on Freya between 20th Avenue and Hartson should be utilized via 17th Avenue.
This work completes the sidewalk network on the west side of Freya from Hartson to 29th Avenue.
It is anticipated the work will complete before school begins Monday, August 31.
This $300,000 to $400,000 CD Sidewalk project is being funded with Community Development Block Grant and Transportation Benefit District funding.
