Riverfront Park attractions open except on Christmas Day

The City of Spokane will have a number of closures related to the holidays. Spokane City Hall will be closed at noon on Thursdays, Dec. 24 and 31, and all day Fridays, Dec. 25 and Jan. 1, in observance of the Christmas and New Year’s holidays.
The Spokane City Council is not scheduled to meet on Mondays, Dec. 21 and 28. Council meetings will resume on Monday, Jan. 4, with a 3:30 p.m. briefing session and 6 p.m. legislative session. Both meetings will be held in the City Council Chambers in the lower level of City Hall, 808 W. Spokane Falls Blvd.
Parking meters don’t have to be plugged on Fridays, Dec. 25 and Jan. 1. And, the Spokane Municipal Court will be closed on Fridays, Dec. 25 and Jan. 1.
All Spokane Public Library branches will be closed on Thursday and Friday, Dec. 24 and 25, for the Christmas holiday and on Friday, Jan. 1, for New Year’s. For events at the library during the holidays, including robot camp, crafts, and “Noon Year’s Eve” parties, go to the events calendar.
City of Spokane garbage pickup and curbside recycling will not be picked up on Fridays, Dec. 25 and Jan. 1; those Friday collections will occur on Saturdays, Dec. 26 and Jan. 2. Downtown night routes aren’t affected by the holidays. The Waste-to-Energy facility will be closed on Thursdays, Dec. 25 and Jan. 1, but open all other days from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Waste Management solid waste collection will be on the same schedule as the City. Other haulers may have different schedules; check with your provider.)
Meanwhile, the Riverfront Park attractions, including the Looff Carrousel, Spokane Falls Skyride, Enchanted Forest Mini-Golf, Imax Theater and Ice Palace will be open throughout the holiday season with the exception of Christmas Day, when park attractions will be closed.
