City Closures Planned for MLK Day

In observance of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday on Monday, Jan. 15, Spokane City Hall will be closed along with other City facilities, including Spokane Municipal Court. Parking meters don’t have to be plugged on Monday, Jan. 15.

Spokane Public Library branches also will be closed on Monday, Jan. 15.

The Spokane City Council briefing session and legislative meeting have been cancelled for Monday, Jan. 15. The Council will hold its next weekly briefing session and legislative meeting on Monday, Jan. 22. The Council will meet in City Hall at 3:30 and 6 p.m. in the City Council Chambers in the lower level of City Hall, 808 W. Spokane Falls Blvd. The 6 p.m. meeting on Jan. 22 is a Town Hall meeting focusing on neighborhoods in the core of the City. Meetings are shown live on CityCable 5, the City’s government-access cable station, and on the web at www.spokanecity.org.

Other services will proceed on normal schedules. Garbage pickup and curbside recycling will proceed as usual. The garbage transfer station at the Waste-to-Energy facility, along with the County’s North County and Valley transfer stations, will be open.
