Excelsior is doing its best to provide clothing to children in residence and to foster families in the community. Winter has provided a shortage of warm winter clothing and accessories for children. Many of the children come with all they own in a black garbage bag which in “No way defines them.”
The clients of Excelsior are doing outreach to the community to offer their services for snow shoveling for those individuals that have physical disabilities and are not able to do so. In doing this, more than ever, they need warm coats.
“We have a great need for winter coats for individuals,” said Karen Kearney, Community Development and Outreach Coordinator for Excelsior, “We at Excelsior thank the City of Spokane in advance for their heart felt kindness to our children.”
Items needed include:
Coats for men – Large and X-large
Coats for women – Medium and Large
These items do not need to be new. Clean and gently used will be accepted.
Items can be dropped at the main floor of City Hall, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Coat racks and hangers are available to hang the coats.
