The City of Spokane and Garco Construction are working together to determine the best path forward to complete the University District Pedestrian Bridge and develop an updated timelines for completion.
A number of delays over the last several months have pushed back the expected opening of the pedestrian and bicycle bridge in the University District. Those delays have included some design and construction changes, railroad-related coordination, and an issue with tensioning of the cables on the bridge that needed additional structural analysis.
A new timeline for bridge completion should be available in the next week or so. The bridge originally was expected to open in early October.
