Spokane Mayor Nadine Woodward has ordered flags at all City facilities to be lowered to half-staff to coincide with Governor Jay Inslee’s directive that state and U.S. flags at all state agency facilities be lowered on Thursday, July 1, in remembrance of Seattle Police Officer Alexandra Brenneman Harris.

Officer Harris was struck and killed by a vehicle while checking on the welfare of several drivers who had just been involved in a vehicle crash on I-5. Mayor Woodward encourages anyone with a flag outside of their home or business to join us in this recognition to honor Officer Harris’ memory.

A memorial service will take place on Thursday, July 1, at 1 p.m., at T-Mobile Park in Seattle.
