Flags at Half-Staff for National Fallen Firefighters and Trooper Detective Gunderson

Spokane Mayor Nadine Woodward has ordered flags at all City facilities to be lowered to half-staff to coincide with President Joseph R. Biden’s directive that state and U.S. flags at all state agency facilities be lowered on Sunday, Oct. 3, in honor of the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Service.

Mayor Woodward encourages anyone with a flag outside of their home or business to join us in honoring the 215 firefighters who died in the line of duty in 2020. Flags can be lowered at the close of business today, Friday, Oct. 1.

 

The second flag lowering is for Monday, Oct. 4, 2021

Spokane Mayor Nadine Woodward has ordered flags at all City facilities to be lowered to half-staff to coincide with Governor Jay Inslee’s directive that state and U.S. flags at all state agency facilities be lowered Monday, Oct. 4, in remembrance of Washington State Patrol Trooper Detective Eric T. Gunderson.

Trooper Detective Gunderson died in the line of duty on Sept. 26, 2021. Mayor Woodward encourages anyone with a flag outside of their home or business to join us in this recognition to honor the trooper’s memory.
