In observance of the Thanksgiving holiday, Spokane City Hall will be closed along with other City facilities, on Thursday and Friday, Nov. 23 and 24.

Here are some additional Thanksgiving closures and cancellations:

  • Solid Waste Services will be a day late the week of Thanksgiving for residents whose garbage is normally picked up on Thursday and Friday. Because of the holiday, crews will do Thursday rounds on Friday, Nov. 24, and Friday rounds on Saturday, Nov. 25. Residents who miss garbage day can report their missed solid waste collection online. The following week will be the last week of Clean Green yard and food waste pickup.
  • On-street parking meters and kiosks will not require payment on Thanksgiving Day. However, please remember even when parking is free on holidays, all parking rules, including time limits, still apply.
  • All Spokane Public Library locations will close at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov 22, and be closed on Thursday and Friday, Nov. 23 and 24.
  • The Spokane Municipal Court and Community Justice Services will be closed on Thursday and Friday, Nov. 23 and 24.
  • My Spokane 311 employees will not be available on Thursday and Friday, Nov. 23 and 24 for in person, phone, or online customer service inquiries these days. The public can access the 311 online app 24 hours a day and messages will be responded to the next business day.
  • Development Services Center employees will not be available on Thursday and Friday, Nov. 23 and 24.
  • The Waste-to-Energy Facility recycling and disposal site will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 23, and open during regular operating hours for the rest of the week.

Attractions in Riverfront Park will be closed Thanksgiving Day but open the rest of the week. View the full list of attraction hours. The Numerica Tree Lighting Celebration in Riverfront Park is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 25, with festivities from 4 – 7 p.m. The tree lighting coincides with the Riverfront Market – Small Business Saturday event from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m., making it a perfect opportunity to explore and support local businesses. Join us in making this evening a celebration of community, tradition, and the spirit of togetherness.
