Eastbound Wellesley Avenue Will Close Overnight for Water Main Repair

Eastbound detour will be in place overnight Saturday to Sunday afternoon.

City of Spokane Water Department crews will close eastbound lanes of W. Wellesley Ave. between N. Maple St. and N. Monroe St. starting at 6 p.m. Saturday, Mar. 8 to repair an underground water main. Crews will work overnight and into Sunday, Mar. 9 to reduce traffic impacts. Estimated time of completion is mid-day, Sunday.

What to Expect:

  • Drivers traveling eastbound on W. Wellesley Ave. will be able to detour north using Maple St. to Rowan Ave., OR south using Ash. St. to Garland Ave. Both directions will continue on to N. Monroe St. to connect back to W. Wellesley Ave.
  • Drivers traveling westbound on W. Wellesley Ave. will NOT experience a detour.
  • Drivers should slow down, be alert, and follow designated detour signs.
