Mayor Lisa Brown has ordered flags at all City facilities to be lowered to half-staff in remembrance of Spokane County Sergeant Ken Salas. Sgt. Salas was struck and killed while helping with a traffic hazard on Interstate 90.

“We are deeply saddened by the loss of Sergeant Salas, who was killed while serving our community. The City of Spokane extends its deepest sympathies to his family, friends, and colleagues with the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office,” Mayor Brown said.

Flags will remain lowered through Monday. The City of Spokane encourages anyone with a flag outside of their home or business to join us in this recognition.
