Construction Traffic Impacts This Week

North Ash St. between Indiana Ave. and Maxwell Ave.

Work on the Maxwell Avenue Bike and Pedestrian Safety Upgrades project for City stormwater system work has been postponed. Drivers traveling on southbound on N. Ash St. will experience significant slowdowns between W. Indiana Ave. and W. Maxwell Ave. Monday, Sept. 22 through Wednesday, Sept. 24.

What to Expect:

  • Southbound lanes on Ash St. will be merge from three lanes to ONE LANE Sept. 22nd-24th between Augusta Ave. and Maxwell Ave.
  • Lane reductions likely to cause congestion on eastbound Northwest Blvd. and southbound Ash St.
  • Pedestrians may experience sidewalk detours.
  • Local access will be maintained.

Alternative Suggestions:

  • Use an alternative arterial route to bypass this area during peak traffic times.
  • Alter drive times to avoid traffic volume between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.
  • Utilize remote work if possible.

Francis and Assembly Water Project

Crews will resume work installing a new water transmission main from the Low Water Pressure System to the Northwest Terrace Water Pressure System, improving water reliability and supporting future growth. This is the second phase of a larger initiative to enhance water, sewer, stormwater, and traffic infrastructure in the area. The project is moving west from Royal Dr. to Rifle Club Rd. with residential street and intersection closures along the way.

What to Expect: (dates are subject to change)

  • Nine Mile Rd./Hwy 291/Francis Ave. will have lane reductions between Royal Dr. and Rifle Club Rd. causing slowdowns in both directions.
  • Sept. 22: N. Royal Dr. between Francis Ave./Hwy 291 and Houston Ave. will be CLOSED
  • Access to the gas station and convenience store will be available, however reduced.
  • Sept. 24: Lyons Ave. between Hartley St. and Nine Mile Rd/Hwy 291 will be CLOSED
  • Sept. 30: W. Woodside Ave. between Francis Ave./Hwy 291 and N. Victor St./N. Old Fort Dr. will be CLOSED
  • Oct. 2: Rifle Club Rd. between Francis Ave./Hwy 291 and N. Old Fort Dr. will be CLOSED
