Spokane Mayor David Condon has directed that United States and Washington state flags at City of Spokane facilities be lowered to half-staff through the weekend in honor of U.S. Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz) who died Saturday. The Mayor’s directive followed similar orders by President Donald Trump and Washington Governor Jay Inslee. The Mayor encourages private citizens and businesses with flags to take a similar action.
