Garbage, recycling, and yard waste services will be a day late all week, with Friday's pickup occurring on Saturday due to the Memorial Day holiday. Please have your carts out at the point of collection by 6 AM on your collection day. For more information on city-wide closures, please refer to our news release.

The following is a statement from Council Member Lili Navarrete:

“I’m excited to announce that I will be officially joining the Community Health and Human Services (CHHS) team as a City of Spokane employee. Going through the Civil Service process gave me a deeper understanding of the expectations, responsibilities, and values that guide public service.

I’m honored to step into this role at a time when the City is working diligently to address housing—a challenge that touches every part of our community. I’m especially looking forward to applying my background in nonprofits and community organizing to help center equity in our housing work, and to contribute to solutions that are both inclusive and sustainable. My last day with City Council is June 30, and my start date with CHHS will be July 17, 2025.”
