Garbage, recycling, and yard waste services will be a day late all week, with Friday's pickup occurring on Saturday due to the Memorial Day holiday. Please have your carts out at the point of collection by 6 AM on your collection day. For more information on city-wide closures, please refer to our news release.

Spokane Mayor Lisa Brown released the following statement on the ongoing federal government shutdown:  

“The ongoing federal government shutdown continues to harm the people of Spokane. While Congress is putting politics over people, families in our city are going without their SNAP benefits and are bracing for the increased pressure of rising healthcare costs.  

“The deal currently on the table does not solve the problem, it only extends it, and Spokanites deserve better than short-term fixes.  

“As a city, we will continue doing what we can to support our community through this uncertainty, but it is past time for Congress to restore stability for the Americans who depend on essential federal programs every day.”
