Airport work may temporarily change arrival and departure patterns

Starting Monday, people who live on the South Hill may notice a temporary change in flight patterns for planes coming in and out of Spokane International Airport (GEG).

The main runway (“3/21”) will close for more work on the airport's Taxiway Reconfiguration Project on June 8. The runway is scheduled to reopen on July 15 but in the meantime, flights will have to shift over to Runway “7/25,” which is aligned from east to west. Because of the complexity and scope of the project, airport officials say it's not possible to complete the work without a runway closure, or by working only at night.

Check out Spokane International Airport's Facebook and Twitter pages for updates during construction.
