While the Washington State Chinese Lantern Festival has ended, we are getting ready to transform Riverfront Park into a Winter Wonderland! The icicle lights in the trees and the lanterns on the Howard Street bridge will remain as part of the light show this winter.
The Winter Glow Spectacular opens on Friday, Nov. 27, 2015, and runs until Dec. 31, 2015. This event is FREE and open to the public. The Lighting Ceremony for Spokane Winter Glow Spectacular will be held at 6pm Nov. 27 in the Fountain Plaza. This year, there will be an “animal light zoo” for the kids to enjoy.
Winter Glow Spectacular is also planning to have Santa and a photographer in the Fountain Meadow, where you can get your picture taken for a fee.
The Winter Glow Spectacular website is: http://www.spokanewinterglow.com/
We also have plans to paint the windows on our carrousel building with a “Frozen” theme, and dress up our train, transforming it into “The Holiday Express”.
While the light display is free, you will need to purchase a ticket to ride the train. Our train will be available on the following schedule:
November 27th - December 17th
December 18th - December 30th
Tickets are $5.50 per person, (adult or child), and can be purchased at Guest Services, the Carrousel, Skyride, and in the Ice Palace. Board the train at the Fountain Café. We are also planning to open the café for hot cocoa and coffee.
The IMAX reopens on Nov. 22, 2015, and will be open until January 2, 2016. During this time, we will be showing:
