Once again, Spokane stepped up to the plate.

This April was the community’s third Spokane Gives event, but the first held over an entire month (the first two were week-long). Volunteers and organizations that participated the first two years told us they wanted additional opportunities to get involved, so we expanded Spokane Gives – and the results were amazing!

During Spokane Gives Month, 17,214 volunteers donated 91,523 hours of service. Using the federal government standard equivalent of $23.56 per volunteer hour, the total equates to more than $2.15 million of economic impact Spokane volunteers gave to their community.

Working together, Spokane did great things. Along with individual volunteers, 67 community organizations, 34 businesses and corporate teams, and five local colleges and universities took part in 380 service projects and events. Thank you, Spokane, for supporting those in need in our community.

Spokane Gives is all about highlighting the need to volunteer all year-long, not just during Spokane Gives month. Thanks to our Spokane Gives partners United Way of Spokane County, you can match your passion and talents to a need happening any time of year at VolunteerSpokane.org.
