Inclusive Playground Design in Riverfront Park

We gathered June 4, 2019 to hear community feedback on design for an inclusive playground in Riverfront – a space to unite children of all abilities. It will be housed on W. Havermale Island, off Post Street.

Couldn’t make it? It’s not too late to share feedback! We’d love to hear from you in the comments below. Take a look at the video to see examples of other projects designed by Shane’s Inspiration, who specializes in inclusive play spaces and is designing Riverfront’s.

The playground is a fundraising project with the Spokane Parks Foundation. If funded, the playground would be the first inclusive play space in the City of Spokane Parks and Recreation system. This playground is separate from the North Bank playground, being constructed with bond funding as one of the 5 key projects of the Riverfront Park redevelopment.

Thank you to our design partners at Shane’s Inspiration and SPVV, and the Spokane Parks Foundation.
