Shape the Shadle Area at Neighborhood Concerts

Grab a chair, blanket, dinner, and friends to enjoy a summer evening of music at the Concerts Under the Pines! Each year, the Audubon-Downriver and Northwest neighborhood councils host this local music series. This summer the City is partnering with the neighborhood councils and will have a table at the event to engage the community in the Shadle area planning process. We need your help to craft a vision for the Shadle area!

At each concert our table will have updates on the Shadle Area plan and will be seeking the neighborhood’s feedback. Stop by the concerts, say hi to the project team, and learn more about this important process for the neighborhoods:

  • July 11, Shadle Park – Lilac City Community Band
  • July 18, Audubon Park – Pamela Benton
  • July 25, Audubon Park – The Step Brothers
  • August 1, Shadle Park – Men of Rhythm

All concerts begin at 6:30 p.m.

This effort builds on the community engagement the City and neighborhoods started in June with the three day plan studio at the Shadle Library. At the studio, close to 100 citizens stopped by to talk with the project team and participate in meetings and workshops about how they use the Shadle area and what improvements they would like to see. You can find the materials from the plan studio on the project website, including PowerPoint presentations, worksheets, and meeting notes.

You can also share your input and vision for the Shadle area in a brief online survey that is open until the end of July.
