Bikes mean business in Spokane!

Spokane is starting 2020 on the right path – City of Spokane municipal government has earned recognition as a Bronze Bicycle Friendly Business from the League of American Bicyclists.

We’ve joined the movement of nearly 1,400 local businesses, government agencies, and Fortune 500 companies across the United States in transforming the workplace to be more welcoming to our customers and employees who bike. This has been an effort of City of Spokane administration and staff, as part of an overarching goal to make the City a more bike friendly community overall.

Bicycle Friendly Business Recognition

“When places make it easier for people to choose to bike, they are building safer, stronger, and better connected communities. The League of American Bicyclists is thrilled when organizations and agencies like City of Spokane municipal government join us in this movement to build a more Bicycle Friendly America. When more people are biking to work or shop, life is better for everyone,” says Executive Director Bill Nesper of the League of American Bicyclists.

Beyond this award, Spokane also recently renewed its status as a Bronze Bicycle Friendly Community.  Our city is one of 488 Bicycle Friendly Communities in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. The Bronze award recognizes Spokane’s commitment to improving conditions for all people who bike throughout the City.
