Test Your Water-Saving Skills by Entering the Water Wise Challenge!

We encourage everyone in our community to use Spokane’s water resources wisely and to help us protect our river. As we battle the summer heat in our high-desert climate, water use more than triples; last year the average household outdoor use was 553 gallons per day.

It’s true that each and every one of us can work to save water - especially when it comes to our outdoor use - which is why we are inviting up to 100 City of Spokane Water Department residential customers to participate in our inaugural Water Wise Challenge this summer. Save water throughout Spokane's hottest months of July & August, and compete to earn credit toward your utility bill. Your only competition is yourself, so no matter how heavy or light your water-use typically is, everyone has an equal chance to win.

Credits begin at a minimum 10% reduction in use, which qualifies for a $50 rebate - and it only goes up from there! $100 rebates for those who reduce by 20%, $200 rebates for those who reduce by 30%, and the grand-prize household that saves the most gallons wins a $300 utility bill credit!

Check out the contest rules and enter the Water Wise Challenge online by July 15th. The registration is a quick, easy, and fun 3-step process. Once you sign-up, the Water Conservation Office will email your water consumption numbers from the 2019 summer season, and then your household can begin setting goals to reduce your use this year. We're here to help with tips for reducing indoor and outdoor water use, as well as rebate programs for updating appliances and other water wasters.

3 easy steps Registration

No matter the percentage, everyone wins when reducing water use is top-of-mind, and we are all working together to protect and conserve our region’s natural resources. We know you’re up for the challenge, so join-in the fun and see how much water (and money) you can save this summer!
