Your Patience at the Curb is Appreciated

Updated: 12/15/2021

Any renovation involves some level of temporary inconvenience. Updating the City’s on-street paid parking system is no exception. We have worked hard to reduce the amount of impact to those who utilize on-street parking.

Over the next few weeks, you may experience a difference if you park at an on-street meter. For several years, on-street parking meters in the congested area and a handful of other locations have accepted payment with coin, credit card or mobile app. While the City prepares to upgrade technology there will be a temporary disruption in the ability to pay using a credit card at on-street meters. When paying for parking, you will still be able to use coin and utilize the Passport mobile app. No on-street meters will accept credit cards at the actual meter during this transition.

Additionally, there may be some meters located outside of the downtown core that may be removed entirely. This will be temporary, and meters or kiosks will return to these areas.

These temporary disruptions lay the groundwork to replace all meters with new paid parking equipment, and we look forward to sharing more exciting updates in the coming weeks!
