Did you know that homes waste roughly 10,000 gallons of water per year from common household leaks, and across the U.S. that totals a staggering ~ 1 trillion gallons annually? 1 trillion gallons is hard to visualize but to put things into perspective, you could fill Lake Coeur d’Alene (~740 billion gallons) to the top and still have water to spare! The time to act is now. The Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) annual Fix-A-Leak Week is back for its 16th year with your March leak check reminder! The nationwide campaign aims to raise awareness about the immense impact of simple household leaks and encourages individuals to act. In just 10 minutes, you can quickly check faucets, toilets, and pipes and catch leaks before they get out of hand!
Follow along with the leak detection guide below and enter our 2025 Fix-A-Leak Challenge. Send us a photo of you fixing a leak and you’ll be entered into a raffle to win a Flume Smart Water Monitor—a device that tracks your water usage and detects leaks instantly so you can manage your water usage and tackle leaks as they arise! By participating, you not only have a chance to win a great prize, but you’ll also be part of a collective effort to conserve water and help protect our valuable water resources.
The challenge is open now and runs through Sunday, March 23rd, the last day of Fix-A-Leak Week and the winner will be announced shortly after. Submit your photo via:
Flume is also on sale for just $19 (reg. $44 with the Water Wise rebate or $249 without, plus tax and shipping). Supply is limited and this price will only be available March 14th-23rd.
