The City of Spokane is working with Permittable AI to provide an additional resource for residents navigating the rebuilding process following the Spokane Complex wildfires. Through the program, Spokane residential permit applicants can use Permittable AI’s Intake Completeness service at no cost for one year to review application materials before submitting them to the City.
Before formally submitting an application to the City, residents can upload their permit package to Permittable AI to screen for missing documents, plan sheets and other completeness issues. The service provides applicants with a report identifying potential issues, giving them an opportunity to address missing information before submitting their application.
The City and Permittable AI have worked together to align the service with Spokane’s current residential submittal requirements. The goal is to make the rebuilding process easier to navigate for affected residents while reducing avoidable back-and-forth associated with incomplete applications. The underlying proposal calls for the service to be calibrated using the City's current submittal requirements and representative residential review materials.
Key Benefits
How It Works
Use of Permittable AI is optional and does not replace the City's permit review. City staff will continue to conduct the official review of all permit applications, and the City retains full authority over permitting decisions.
