High Bridge Dog Park Update - November 2023: On November 3, SpokAnimal notified Spokane Parks & Recreation that they would be choosing not to renew their lease of High Bridge and their maintenance agreements. Spokane Parks is grateful for the 13-year relationship with SpokAnimal, for the funds they provided to help build the High Bridge dog park in 2011 and the countless hours of work they have provided in maintenance. Park Operations teams will resume care of the dog parks and they will remain open. We welcome and appreciate any community volunteer assistance. Parks asks all dog park users to continue picking up their dog’s waste at the dog parks. Please report any maintenance issues by calling 311 or 509.755.2489.

High Bridge Dog Park

Location: 330 S. A St.

Established in 2011, High Bridge Dog Park is the City of Spokane’s first dog park. The sprawling 9.3 acre dog park contains both flat and hilly terrain with open and treed areas for a nice mixture of offerings for play, socialization, and exploration.

SpokAnimal became the naming partner for High Bridge Dog Park in 2011 after donating $40,000 for Phase I of development, which included installation of fencing around the property. The dog park was also leased to and maintained by SpokAnimal from 2011 through November 2023, at which time Park Operations resumed care of the property.

High Bridge Dog Park is now the site selected by the Park Board (and agreed upon by Spokane Public Schools) for future dog park renovation investment, anticipated for 2024/2025.

The Master Plan

The project began when the Spokane Parks Foundation awarded a $12,000 grant for development of the Master Plan for the Dog Park. There are separately designated areas for small and medium to large dogs, and a parking lot with plenty of space for dog park users.

Riverside Dog Park

Location: 1200 W. Riverside Ave.
